About the picture Painting of the Dragons, inspired by the Dragons and their Avatars from the Drachenfest [link]
Materials - Photoshop CS5, Wacom Intuos 3 A4 and Wacom Cintiqu 21 - several hours
About the motive This Dragonknot is inspired by the current Drachenfest-Logo. But I added missing dragons like Copper and Blue and painted them like I designed them in the speedpaintings. :bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite::bulletwhite:

Wow.
At first glance I love the piece and you've got lots of great elements in it. For mine however, the image has a lot of choas in it and your eye just doesn't know where to go. You've got lots of twisting forms and dragon heads but I'm not convinced they all come together harmoniously. The other thing would be a lack of a consistent light source and subsequently the shadows they cast. I think having so many strong colours (red, blue, green, yellow, black) means visually the dragons are fighting one another. I think if you had all the dragons bathed in an warm light it would help to pull the piece together. Still a cool piece but I think with a few tweaks, you could take it to that next level.
